Opening 1: Software Engineer Internship

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

IPG Consumer Printer R&D department in Shanghai is to manage R&D low end inkjet printer programs with significant improvements in cost, quality, new technologies and time to market. It provides excellent environment for learning new ways of doing and growth opportunities.
More and more users are recognizing the convenience of having a device that prints, copies, scans, faxes and connects to the web. This success has given HP the opportunity to add innovative new features and develop customized solutions. Now we are looking for a highly motivated top performer with deep technical skills in software development, and demonstrated technical leadership specific technical domains (device driver, image analysis, networking or solution architecture). You will join a multi-discipline technology R&D team comprising Hardware, Firmware, Software, Scanner, and Human Factor Engineers inventing new technologies and developing technologically advanced systems. We need your expertise and desire to learn in areas such as wireless, USB, Servo, networking, imaging, control systems, graphical user interfaces , and I/O. Together, with some of the best electrical and mechanical engineers in the industry, you will invent new solutions for our Printer devices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development projects:

? Design and test the company software and products
? Design and implement features and platform components from requirements
? Involved in the full software development lifecycle
? Work with various developers, product designers, and customer support engineers within the company to deliver high quality defect fixes and enhancements that follow the overall product direction
? Attend design and code reviews
? Outline and write high-level technical design documents for products
Testing projects:

? Develop and execute test cases
? Analyze and write test standards and procedures
? Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
? Analyze test results to validate existing functionality and recommend corrective action
? Consult with development engineers on problem resolution
? Automate test cases and maintain the automation test framework
? Perform routine tasks, such as updating statuses and attending team meetings
Required:

Master or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of study, related experience or equivalent.
Strong software systems design, development and de-bugging skills.
Excellent knowledge of C/C++ programming, good understanding on Operation System
Analytic ability in order to research technical issues and generate creative/innovative solutions.
Ability to work independently or on a team, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Proven teamwork skills and ability to work with a degree of ambiguity.
Ability to interface with all levels in testing and hardware/software development organization.
Excellent communication skills and can collaborate globally
Expertise on specific domain (device driver, image analysis, networking or system architecture) is desired.

Opening 2 LaserJet Cartridge R&D engineer Internship

Responsible for:

? Leading new Cartridge (CRG) development with partner from concept phase to introduction.
? Defining CRG quality requirements.
? CRG quality evaluation, report, issue troubleshooting and solution verification.
? Working with cross function team to proactively evaluate the quality of CRG and impact on program
? Identifying emerging market technology and lead the analysis.

Basic Requirements:
- Master Degree, Mechanical Engineering, Physical electronics background preferred.
- Fluent English, returnee is preferred.

Soft Skill Requirements
- Passion on technical study
- Strong problem solving skill
- 6 sigma green or black belt is a plus
