About ETM Platform

Cargill ETM is the specialist energy, transportation and metals division of Cargill. By connecting our expertise in these three areas, Cargill ETM brings a unique combination of commercial know-how to the management of supply chains.

We also operate eight steel service centers across the United States (East Chicago, Granite City, Houston, Loudon, Nashville, Panama, Tulsa, and Windsor).

Commercial Management Trainee

Location/Vacancies  Shanghai/1

Responsibilities:

· Assist to drive customer solutions to develop CMSC as a customer of choice and develop a long term strategy centered on creating sustainable trading business model.

· Develop market knowledge through interaction with steel mills, traders, brokers and other market participants.

· Develop working knowledge of economic Supply/Demand research and analysis. Trade-flow analysis, working closely with CMSC Analytics team. 

· Communicating and potential to work with internal and external customers on a daily basis, both written and verbal. 

· Develop physical knowledge of commodity (i.e. steel) as well as shipping, logistics, quality, contract terms and operations.

· Ensure execution of trades from conception to completion is done within Cargill processes, guidelines and guiding principles.

Requirements:

· Bachelor/Master’s degree in Metallurgy Engineering from a reputable university.

· Possess aptitude to excel in a commercial environment combine with application of technical expertise in metallurgy. 

· Prior internship experience with exposure to physical trading will be an advantage

· Demonstrated self-starter, entrepreneurial and innovative behaviors, strong business acumen 

· Significant quantitative and analytical facility and commercially-minded   

· Ability to contribute and execute as part of a team and individually 

· Strong communication skills - written, oral, persuasion 

· Willing to rotate between different China locations during traineeship
