Location: Guangzhou, China Reports to: Associate Director of Scientific Liaison Job Summary The Scientific Liaison Manager (SLM) will conduct comprehensive searches of drug candidates and technologies from China in order to identify promising Chinese pharmaceuticals and technologies for HUYA to further develop. The SLM will establish strong working relationships with Chinese life science parks, research institutions and principle investigators to position HUYA as the first to evaluate and secure licenses to new pharmaceutical products identified in China. The SLM will be HUYA’s local scientific antenna for the identification of innovative drug candidates and drug development opportunities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities · Scout, identify and follow up on new drug candidates according to HUYA’s in-licensing criteria and under the general direction of senior management and SLM leaders. · Establish and maintain close relationships with potential collaborators at universities, academic institutions, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, and scientific parks in China. Build HUYA’s networks to facilitate the company’s early access to breakthrough scientific discoveries and innovative drugs in China. · Prepare detailed reports of opportunities; promote and maintain potential collaboration on projects under the guidance and leadership of SLM leaders. · Assist in activities relating to in-licensing and co-development agreements between HUYA and entities in China. Qualifications · Ph.D. or M.S. in life sciences, chemistry, pharmacology or medicine from a top university or institute. · Minimum four years of master degree, or three years of Ph.D degree, in life science sectors with knowledge of drug development. · Must be fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English with strong written and verbal communication skills. · Wide networks in the Chinese pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, and strong connections with academic institutions. · Experience in project management, market research, competitive analysis, or business development is preferred. · Proven success in building internal cross-functional and external relationships. · Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. · Demonstrated teamwork abilities. Special Considerations · Some travel is to be expected up to 25%. · Flexible work schedule. This job may necessitate working outside “regular” work hours. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding. |
