Job Title: English Editor

Job Vacancies: 1 
Location: Guangzhou, China 
Full/Part time: Full-Time, Contract-based 
Remuneration Package: Salary Negotiable, and plus a year-end bonus.

Position Responsibilities

1. Translating Chinese or English academic articles and research materials;

2.Planning, gathering, compiling, proofreading English contents for New Media platform (such as official website, Wechat, Weibo, electronic publication, etc.), making sure the content is edited in a professional manner, and done with high-quality compiling;

3.  Accomplishing other relevant tasks assigned by the institute.

Qualification

1. Bachelor Degree or above;

2. English native speaker or with oversea experience for more than 10years.

About IPP

The Institute of Public Policy (IPP) at South China University of Technology (SCUT) is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded through a donation by Mr Mo Daoming, alumni of SCUT. The Institute serves as an open, innovative platform for policy research and knowledge advancement.

IPP shares its core values of independence, objectivity and effectiveness, and gathers the world’s prominent scholars and practitioners to expand the boundaries of human knowledge and improve policy and decision-making in response to the vital political, economic and social challenges in China during her transitional period. Under the guidance of SCUT honorary Professor Zheng Yongnian, the IPP research team conducts research to provide effective policy recommendations and alternative solutions to the areas of politics, society, economy and technology. 

IPP research is organized into four research clusters/centers—Knowledge Advancement and Social Policy, Risk and Crisis Management, Science and Technology Policy, and Environment and Energy Policy. The four research centers have accomplished many significant policy research programs for both the national and local governments. The Institute has been identified as a “Major Research Base for Social Construction of Guangdong” by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province.

To communicate its findings to a wide audience, IPP publishes IPP Policy Research Quarterly and IPP Monthly Policy Report. IPP Library, a large database which includes book series of public policy from China perspective and translation series with global vision, is in the preparation stage. All these publications will help improve the theoretical research and practice of China’s public policy.

The Institute’s aim is to build an open, innovative platform for public policy research and become an indispensable think tank and leadership training base in China.
