Challenge Program
This is a 3.5-year graduate program with three placements, providing early career development opportunities for high potential young graduates to accumulate cross BU knowledge/skills to be future leaders or senior experts as subject discipline. With structured development plan, graduates will benefit from a broad base of support and trainings from senior leaders, line manager, mentor and colleagues. All these personal mentoring, structured learning programs, expert advice and regular appraisals will help prepare you for great success with BP.
Role Synopsis
The chemical & process engineers play important roles in delivering the innovative solutions that take our business forward, diverse career paths exist from process safety and process design, project engineering and management, manufacturing and operations, to research and technology. As a Process Engineering Challenger, following detail knowledge and experiences you may expect during the 3.5 years development duration:
-To learn basics of chemical plants’ plant operations, process engineering essentials, and chemical processing technologies.
-To monitor, analyze and optimize key unit/process performance parameters and perform plant optimization/ trouble shooting activities through engineering applications.
-To learn how to design simple systems using software or computer based calculations.
-To learn how to propose and develop optimization ideas and conduct basic economic evaluation.
-To actively participate in process safety activities, e.g. HAZOP reviews
-To report any unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.
Requirements
-4 years of university graduated, bachelor degree and above, majored in Chemical engineering, or equivalent discipline. Study in Process Systems Engineering is prefered.
-Experience in Apsen plus or Pro/II simulation is prefered.
-The ability to perform fundamental chemical engineering and unit operation calculations using standard and/or specialized chemical engineering tools.
-Understand the implications of physical properties, thermodynamics and transport property models.
-Open mindedness and willing to learn and show initiatives for self-improvement.
-Fluent English, both oral and written
-Strong communication & interpersonal skills, good team player
-Demonstrates BP values
