Position Summary:
The NVH engineer will be responsible and lead the turbocharger part validation of noise & vibration viewpoint at Gas Stand System/ Engine/ Vehicle and so on. The NVH engineer also leads to develop test mode, test process documentation, analysis of test results and inspection of turbocharger tested with the proto shop. Its analysis and inspection of turbocharger can be utilized for design improvement. The NVH engineer along with engineering team will work to ensure all proper documentation and inspection is performed in support of releasing to production validated products. The NVH engineer will serve as a liaison between internal groups at BorgWarner (AE, design, quality, test team, etc.), vendors and customers to ensure the successful production, documentation and quality level of prototype or test part. In addition the NVH engineer will be responsible for investment and maintenance of NVH test equipment, utility, etc.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Develop a system to track, plan and control test (facility) and introduce/implement the system to portions of the organization which must use it
2.Coordinate support from other functional areas (quality, production manufacturing, SCM, AE and R&D) as needed to test turbocharger parts.
3.100% on time test turbocharger parts per internal or external requirements
4.Evaluate turbocharger parts reliability by engine or vehicle test and gas stand test per internal or external requirements.
5.100% required documentation of test results per internal or external requirements
6.100% cost tracking/summary of test procedure. Gathering costs by support of functional areas (Finance, SCM, AE, R&D, etc.) and summarizing (fuels, oil, water, labor, measurement costs, documentation, etc.) to enable verification of actual test cost structure.
7.Develop validation and release reporting format and database. Including report format, standard measurement requirements, etc.
8.Responsible for installation / dis-assembly of turbocharger part on test facility. Also responsible of inspection and documentation of validation and test sample in support of internal function.
9.Developing and maintaining clean and organized test facility utilizing 5S
10.Creating detailed work instructions for any specific test facility requirements or special processes
11.Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between managers, engineers, co-workers, and customers. This requires maintaining daily personal contact with all facets of the function’s operations and remaining aware of current progress.
12.Employees should strictly abide the EHS rules and regulations and behavior guide line in the plant; wear PPE in right way; actively participate in EHS training; do housekeeping at work; report accidents and unsafe issues immediately, join the accident disposal. 13.Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. NVH test and development experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
2. Understanding of NVH test equipments and test procedure.
3. Understanding the manufacturing process of turbochargers or automotive components.
4.Customer contact requires professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage technical details
5. 3 years interrelated NVH working experience is preferred; Theoretical background of Noise and Vibration analysis and solving technical issues by test & validation process is needed
6.Must be a team player and have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
7.Theoretical background of Noise and Vibration analysis and solving technical issues by test & validation process is needed.
8.Engineering background, mechanical is preferred and especially NVH master degree is a plus.
