We are currently looking for talented individuals to join the Greater China office for McKinsey China Knowledge Center.Analytics – Junior Research AnalystOVERVIEWMcKinsey China Knowledge Center, the research arm of McKinsey’s Greater China Office and part of McKinsey’s global Knowledge Network, is looking for talents to fill out our Analytics Specialists vacancies. The Analytics group works with McKinsey consulting teams to carry out complex data analysis and modeling, and it creates foundations for sound recommendations for client studies and internal projects. For this challenging role in the firm’s Shanghai office.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As an expert in analysis and methodology, you will support our consultants and clients in a variety of industries by creating complex mathematical and economic models. You will develop prototypes in Excel and Access, conduct statistical analyses, and evaluate large data sets. Your work will be project oriented, and you will often be responsible for the entire analytical process – from task definition to the implementation and interpretation of results to the delivery to the client. In dialogues with McKinsey consultants and with clients, you will discuss your results constructively, in continuous search of the best possible solution. You will work in both the Shanghai office and on-site with clients.
Your work is multifaceted and exciting, and you will gain insights into many industries and into management topics. In project work and in exchanges with colleagues, you will deal with new intellectual challenges daily as well as build your industry and knowledge of methodology on an ongoing basis. A clearly defined career path will help you to continuously develop your skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (both oral and written).
- Bachelor degree or above from top universities in computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, econometrics or a related degree program and achieved outstanding academic results.
- 0-3 years work experience.
- Analytical thinker and also be able to solve problems independently and creatively.
- Experience and knowledge of data analysis/modeling or programming is essential.
- Comprehensive computer skills including database searching, power point, word processing, spreadsheet analysis and online research.
- Good people skills, team orientation, quality-oriented, highly committed and professional.
