GoPro is seeking an intern for firmware engineering. He/She will play a supporting role in developing camera firmware which will be used to support automated test on CM’s production line. In addition, he/she will contribute to insuring our product quality by supporting operation team to improve test methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with the lead engineer, execute on specific firmware development task or bug fix.
• Support the execution of firmware internal test.
• Maintain technical documents to allow easy hand-offs to other team members.
• Support HW team on EE test.
• Support operation team on issues found on production line.

Requirements

• Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science/ Electronic Engineering or related major.
• Like embedded programming and enjoy building HW.
• Able to do C or C++ programming.
• Have basic knowledge of electronics theory, able to read schematic and tell how components are connected.
• Have basic knowledge of the working of a computer system or embedded system.
• Basic organizational and communication skills, Email and MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must Pass CET4.
• Able to work at least 3 days per week for 6 months. 1 year is preferred

Optional Requirements

• Understanding of the basic RTOS concepts (eg. task, scheduler, mutex) is an advantage.
• Understanding of bootloader concept is an advantage.
• Programming experience under Linux / embedded Linux, or experience in embedded MCU project is a strong advantage.
• Experience in using one type of version control system (eg. Git) is an advantage.
• Knowledge in audio processing, RF test or image processing is an advantage.
