About Global Information Services (GIS)

Global Information Services is the team within Albany chartered with providing leading-edge systems and technologies to internal users as well as Albany customers.  GIS provides services ranging from Information Technology Strategy to infrastructure development and maintenance, with a unique and intense focus on customer service.

 

 Description  

The IT Site Coordinator’s role is responsible to operate the local IT Department at our Hangzhou location in alignment with the Global Information Services (GIS) strategy and objectives. This individual will plan, coordinate, and deploy IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide support for end users. The IT Coordinator will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices defined by GIS.

Responsibility

Strategy & Planning

Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future IT needs.

Operational Management

·Provide deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.

·Provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.

  · Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

  · Keep current with the latest technologies.

  ·Assist with Projects.

  · Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.

  ·Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s management, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.

  Acquisition & Deployment

·Benchmark, analyze report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

·Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review. 

·Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.

 ·Implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

 ·Administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

  

Position Requirements  

  Formal Education & Certification

University degree in the field of computer science or information systems or equivalent work related experience.

Microsoft Professional Certifications preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

Speaks English intermediate level.

Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows Server.

Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including Routers, Switches, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.  

Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.  

Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.

Understanding of project management principles.

Safety and Procedures

 Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures applicable to the job.

 Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.

Attend and participate in all safety training Safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.

Report all safety hazards observed. If capable, correct the safety hazard identified.

     

Physical Demands

 Sitting for extended periods of time.

 Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
