Job Description
The Evaluation Test Development (ETD) is chartered with developing hardware and software test solutions for hp products. ETD is now hiring a Systems/Software Engineer at our location in Shanghai, China. This engineer will be responsible for assisting the hp product teams and ODM partners in delivering new products and developing software test tools.
To assist the hp product development teams in delivering new products, the candidate will work with hp product development teams and suppliers to root cause issues discovered by the ETD test tools. This will involve using software debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for distributing the ETD tests tools to HP's development partners, training the HP development partners in the use of the ETD test tools, and serving as an ETD contact for the HP development partners in Asia.
To develop new software test tools, the candidate will use sound design methodologies to architect software tools per the customer's requirements. The candidate will use mainstream development tools to generate new software products. Finally, the candidate will provide sufficient documentation and training on how to effectively use the new software tool.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Skills
Fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English
Proficiency in C/C++ programming language
Extensive knowledge of computer architecture
Extensive knowledge of x86 architecture
Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills
Skilled in using software debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
Experience designing and developing large software applications
Experience developing device drivers - NT, WDM, Linux, UNIX
Experience developing Windows and Linux applications
Working knowledge of expansion buses - PCI Express, PCIX, USB, 1394, PCMCIA
