Position Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsible for design and test of high performance Voltage Controlled
Oscillators (VCO’s), Phase Locked Loop’s (PLL’s), Synthesizer, LNA, and Power Amplifier.
Basic Job Duties and Responsibilities

Design high performance VCO and PLL modules for various wireless applications, including GSM, CDMA, UWB, WiFi and WiMax protocols. |
|
Evaluate designs and implement necessary modifications to enhance performance, reduce cost, and improve yield. |
|
Propose circuit topologies, component specifications, and circuit layouts to meet various subsystem requirements. |
|
Extensive use of test equipment, such as Spectrum Analyzers, Frequency Counters, Power Meters, and temperature chambers to validate designs. |
|
Interface with customers to define specifications, promote product and provide technical support as necessary. |
|
Train and assist RF technicians to perform related testing and design tasks. |
|
Maintain open communication with all group members and thoroughly document work. |
|
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. |
|
Knowledge of Design For Manufacture ability and proven capability to transfer designs to volume production. |
Knowledge, Skill Sets, Education, Experience
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
BSEE/MSEE with 3 years RF experience preferred.
Minimum required BSEE with 5 years of RF experience.
Thorough understanding of RF design techniques and design tools is required. Preferred knowledge and experience in VCO and PLL design.
Extensive knowledge of test equipment and software required.
Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
Desired
Agilent E5052 experience a plus. Good “hands on” testing and troubleshooting skills.
Previous experience in designing and the testing of high performance PLL/VCOs/Amplifier
Familiarity with the different types of wireless protocols.
