Background
The HP Inkjet Commercial Division has the charter for the development of leading-edge large format inkjet printer products for a broad range of markets and needs worldwide, being the first world wide supplier of Large Format Printers. We are now hiring a new product development team in Shanghai. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals interested in developing a career in an international environment in the frame of a very dynamic and growing business.
Responsibilities:
Working throughout the product life cycle from conception through introduction, you'll be responsible for driving our successful position in the market by ensuring that our new designed products meet and beat the customer expectations. This involves evaluation of customer needs and experiences, generation of new propositions of value, new product development and extensive validation with final users.
Among others, your main duties will be:
Master the customer usage models knowledge and market insights across the R&D organization
Drive the Total Customer Experience process to define and measure the winning Value Proposition within assigned programs:
Participate in the creation of the product concepts from a user-centric point of view.
Definition and Deployment of customer scenarios
Plan and manage User Experience testing and validation activities (usability tests, alfa tests, beta tests) over program. From competitive assessment to product release and stabilization.
Assure and measure that products' value proposition are adequately addressed along the different touch points of the customer interaction map
Partner with Product Marketing in the Division and Regional teams to
Ensure that customers are represented within the product's development community and other relevant decision forums.
Analyze market opportunities, develop and evaluate business strategic alternatives, keep usage models updated.
Convert market requirements into technical specifications to ensure that designs meet the expectations of the selected target customer.
Facilitate end-user contact activities that enable lab members to be user-savvy, like accessibility to market researches, focus groups, usability testing and customer councils.
Support product introductions and later stabilization: get customer feedback and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to improve their experience.
Qualifications
Qualification
Bachelor in a relevant technical area (Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanics..)
Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human factors or Quality.
Demonstrated experience in Product validation with customers.
Demonstrated experience in future product management in high technology companies; knowledge in solutions & technology development.
Demonstrated leadership skills, action oriented and risk taking.
Be a role model for user-centered decision making.
Demonstrated communication, creativity and good presentation skills. Ability to tune message to different communities: from parts design engineers to staff. From pure Engineering to front end sales teams.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Fluent in English and Mandarin.
