Title: Product Engineer
Reports to: Program Launch Manager

Purpose: To develop and promote new cost effective, high quality, heat transfer products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

· Establishing the programs and processes for new product development including: interacting with customers to define product needs; investigating new concept potential with respect to manufacturing, cost and marketability; preparing drawings, evaluating product designs; building prototypes samples; conducting product testing.
· Responsible for meeting customer's build schedules and all quantity, quality and delivery targets.
· Coordinating the program management function with the sales department.
· Participate in QOS, QS9000 and ISO 14000 activities.
· Developing improvement plans for product capability.
· Interfacing with A/E, customers, suppliers, and other management staff as required within the plant and outside the plant.
· Teaming with production and quality management teams for continuous improvements.
· Problem solving/process troubleshooting
· Attend meetings when required

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent experience.
· Progressively responsible engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the autoparts/heat transfer industry.
· Technical knowledge/experience in heat transfer, fluid management and brazing.
· Strong commitment to excellence in customer service.
· Track record demonstrating success in teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Working knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics are assets.
· Computer literacy.
· English is a must.
