Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports to: Mfg Eng Manager

Purpose: Responsible for establishing procedures, methods, programs and layouts designed to promote manufacturing/assembly efficiency and overall plant profitability.

Main Responsibilities:
· Establishing programs/procedures providing for the design, purchase and installation of new equipment or facility upgrades.
· Developing new or modifying existing methods to manufacture/assemble products ensuring that production methods meet quality, health and safety, environmental and production standards.
· Determining the manufacturing scope for product launches.
· Setting specifications for sub-components and overall assembly.
· Selecting vendors by evaluating their ability to meet internal process specifications and holding them accountable to meet their design proposals, capabilities and on time delivery.
· Commissioning production equipment and determining its capacity and capability prior to production acceptance.
· Overseeing & trouble-shooting production start-up.
· Working with suppliers, product engineers and customers in establishing quality production methods.
· Determining optimum plant layout and process flow to achieve operational effectiveness.
· Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of all production equipment.
· Researching new process technologies.
· Responsible for continuous improvements on new and existing lines.
· Ensuring production processes/improvements meet ISO14001 and QS9000 standards.

Qualifications:
· Mechanical Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma.
· Progressively responsible engineering experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
· Broad knowledge of machine design principles, mistake proofing and ergonomics.
· Strong troubleshooting, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Track record demonstrating success in teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Computer literacy.
· English is a must.
· Preference will be given to team players with high volume automotive background.
