Job Description:
Work in Intellectual Property (IP)-information research department. To provide in-depth information research and analysis services to support R&D projects and the associated intellectual property functions. This position will support the R&D groups in Beijing as well as the IP Division. It may also include information support for other P&G businesses, and general Business Information Service (BIS) clients. As an IPBIS Information Scientist, you will be a member of a global team of information professionals who support R&D and legal clients throughout the world in their technical, patent and business information needs using external and in-house information resources and tools.
Qualification Required:
1、A degree in a technical field is required with preference given to chemistry. An information qualification is desired, but not essential as internal and external training will be provided.
2、Experience and/or interest in searching scientific, technical and patent databases are required. Knowledge of searching STN, Dialog, Questel, Chemical Abstracts, Scifinder, Smartcharts and Derwent World Patent Index would be advantageous.
3、Ability to prepare meaningful analysis, summaries and reports of search results is required. Experience with patent analysis and mapping tools such as Aurigin and SmartCharts is desirable.
4、Knowledge of patents and the patenting process in R&D would be helpful. Previous participation in developing intellectual property strategies is desirable.
5、Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a pro-active outlook are essential as well as a strong customer service orientation. Must be able to communicate at a technical level with scientists and legal staff.
6、Fluency in English is essential.
