Engineer responsible for developing platform BIOS/image, in support of desktop or Notebook programs for all test phases of product development, issues debugging and resolutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
The candidate will work closely with various software component
suppliers like Taiwanese ODM partners, chip driver vendors and internal
hardware and software teams and will lead and co-ordinate development of BIOS and
driver level software for portable/desktop products that meet schedule,
quality and functionality goals.
Qualifications
- author and maintain detailed functional and/or design requirements
specifications
- lead, track and/or execute implementation & debugging of various
software components
- coordinate and drive work of external partners (ODMs, BIOS and
driver vendors) for timely high-quality delivery
- drive software/platform issues to resolution,
- actively help manage defect resolution process
- maintain the software after release to production.
Skills / Knowledge Qualifications
Musts:
- BS CS/CE/EE or equivalent
- Excellent communications skills (written & oral)
- Strong teamwork skills
- Demonstrated experience working with external vendors and partners to deliver results
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and adaptability
- Demonstrated self-managing, high-energy individual
Desired:
- MS EE/CS or equivalent work experience
- Strong, hands-on, technical experience developing and debugging PC BIOS and Driver code
- Excellent understanding of PC hardware, operating systems, MS Windows, Portable PC technologies and marketplace, and the latest PC standards (PCI, ACPI, USB, future Windows, etc ...)
