IBM China Research Lab (CRL) right now is seeking for interns for Native XML
Research.

Dear Candidates,
This is Business Intelligence Research Team from IBM China Research Lab, a re
search team aiming at exploring cutting-edge information modeling, data minin
g, reasoning and related technologies into innovative solutions. As a versati
le and application-oriented team, we focus on digging out both technical chal
lenges and business value of technologies. To explore innovative information
technology in healthcare domain, hereby, we are seeking for long-term resear
ch interns with the following background and skills. If you have interest to

Requirement:
- Responsibility:
Design and implmemenation of Native XML database, Data Warehouse support for
healthcare domain

- Duration: 3~12 month

- Skill:
Deep knowledge in XQuery, XPath, Native XML database, NXD Optimization, XML
Parsing
Experienced in database schema design, SQL, Relational Database
Good at Java, Eclipse Programming, JDBC
Capable of paper publishing on International Publications/Conference

- Detail Requirements :
Experienced on Query, XPath, Native XML database, NXD optimization -- 4
Skilled in RDB, SQL -- 4
Good at Java, JDBC, Eclipse -- 3
Knowledge on Conceptual Modeling, like Ontology, ER Model and OO Model -- 2

- Common Non-technical skills requirements:
Capability and passion on paper publications -- 3
Plenty of time to work in CRL (At least 30 hours a week) -- 4
Good communication and team work skills -- 3

- Strong criteria:
Capable of independent research work and long-term internship


Skill Level Description:
1 - No experience, limited knowledge;
2 - Very limited experience, has general knowledge only;
3 - Has performed independently in routine situations, can perform with assis
tance, has applied knowledge;
4 - Repeated experience without assistance, has in-depth knowledge, can direc
t other in performing;
5 - Extensive and comprehensive experience, comprehensive knowledge, can give
expert advice and lead others to perform.
