-Participate in application database design
-Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL server software and related products
-Perform database, application and system performance monitoring and tuning
-Physical database design
-Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
-Database backup and recovery
-Manage database security and data integrity
-Setup and maintain documentation and standards
-First considered obtains the Microsoft database authentication
Skills Required
-Good spoken and written English
-Evaluate SQL features and SQL related products and provide a strategic database direction for the organization
-Ability to establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
-Good trouble shooting skills
-A good knowledge of SQL data integrity, resources management
-Database, application and system tuning and performance monitoring
-Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
-A sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
-A good understanding of the underlying operating system
-Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
-Oracle development experience is a plus
-Database migration experience from other RDBMS database to SQL is a plus
