An overview of this programs objectives and how you can benefit

Technology Year Round Interns are recruited and placed on a specific develop
ment or infrastructure team for the duration of the internship. You will sol
ve business problems that are unique to a market-leading institution, and yo
u will be using innovative technology to do so. More than 50,000 employees a
nd many customers need easy access to our back-end platforms.

Our software is developed on Windows, UNIX and Linux, using Java, C++, C# an
d Perl. Our developers leverage third-party infrastructure as well as infras
tructure developed in-house - relational databases, global XML/SOAP messagin
g infrastructure, high-availability clusters, and massively scalable distrib
uted systems.

Former interns have worked on projects involving our enterprise portal, wire
less access, or components of our many trading and risk-reporting systems us
ing various technologies, such as .NET, JSP, Java Servlets and SOAP.

The Technology Year Round Program

How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect

The one year Technology Year Round Full-Time Program is designed to develop
highly motivated junior technologists who partner with the business units to
solve complex problems through the appropriate use of technology.

The program commences with an introduction to the securities business and th
e Morgan Stanley Technology division. An overview of the Morgan Stanley tech
nical environment, systems and infrastructure is provided.

A weekly speaker series during the summer months provides interns with the p
erfect forum to learn and discuss emerging trends and developments in techno
logy and finance with senior managers from the firm. To smooth the transitio
n from classroom to the corporate environment, interns are typically paired
with Morgan Stanley technologists who serve as mentors. In many instances, m
entor relationships continue well beyond the end of the program. Moreover, f
requent social activities throughout the internship allow for networking opp
ortunities with Technology officers, associates and peers.

Requirements

A degree in any subject is considered and you must have a demonstrated inter
est in technology. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or Doc
torate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer
ing, Mathematics, Physics, or a related science or engineering discipline th
at is particularly relevant. Candidates should be comfortable with a program
ming language (C, C++, C#, or Java) to be considered for our application dev
elopment internships and an understanding of Linux/UNIX, Windows platforms a
nd networking to be considered for our infrastructure internships. Considera
tion for our internship program requires a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (United St
ates) or Class degree 2.1 (United Kingdom) or equivalent in Europe and Asia.


Deadlines

The deadline for applying to the Summer Technology Analyst Program is March
21, 2008.
