Description
Magnetar Beijing is looking for several highly-motivated and detail-oriented individuals to assist with an important project related to one of our investment strategies. The primary responsibility of the Junior Data Analyst will be to understand, reconcile, and provide analysis of key data as required by the portfolio management team. Junior Data analysts may also be involved in other projects related to this investment strategy. Candidates may be asked to travel to the USA periodically for additional training.

Qualified candidates will be paid a competitive salary. In addition to this compensation, the candidate will benefit greatly from exposure to sophisticated investment and risk management processes, as well as direct interaction with world-class investment professionals. This position is ideal for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of investment management.

Qualifications
Prospective candidates will be interviewed on company premises, and are expected to meet or exceed the qualifications listed below.

1. Undergraduate students currently enrolled at top-tier universities in Beijing, who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, and will graduate in 2010.
2. Excellent proficiency in all aspects of English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred, but not necessarily required.
4. Strong interest in one or more of the following fields: finance, investments, technology, process management.
5. Must be a self-starter and a quick learner.
6. Must have extraordinary attention to detail.
7. Must have outstanding analytic and communication skills.
8. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
