Job Description
The Data Analyst is a major user of our marketing CRM systems, explore the full potential of available data in a business decision support context. This will involve performing various exploratory data analysis, using business context supplied by business owners.
To understand what Cisco marketing data we have available for marketing purposes, to support customer coverage strategies and direct marketing programs
To act as point of contact and consultancy for Marketing teams on available data and data extraction services
To produce and publish regular country reports/snapshot views on marketing data
Responsibilities
Market Data Strategy
Theoretical notions about how customers and prospects buy, select vendors, select solutions, and prefer delivery of solutions, all come to life through the efforts of the Market Data Strategy professional. Leverages database resources to advise Sales and Marketing (Marketing Management (MM) and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC)) which customer segments, accounts, and contacts to target for marketing campaigns
Research/investigate data sources
Understand the characteristic of the various available internal and external data sources
Advice data consumers of the correct utilization of right data, based on the business context driving the data requirements
Expert user for database tools
Deep knowledge of available data analysis and reporting tools
Expert usage support to other users of these tools
Drive requirements and enhancement requests to WW tool owners on behalf of the regional user community
Perform data analysis
Fulfill routine request for database analysis
Work with business owner to initiate ‘ground breaking’ exploratory data analysis projects with the intent to demonstrate and develop sophisticated data-based decision support capabilities
Data readiness requirements
Based on routine analysis requests and the various exploratory projects, work with business owners to define data readiness criteria to ensure that feeder data is available and that there is integrity in the resulting analysis
Develop and publish readiness scorecards to track readiness postures
Work with business users and subsidiary database teams to develop acquisition plans for identified data attributes
Investigate reported data anomalies
Assist database teams investigate any anomalies discovered in the data from the CRM systems
Escalate to WW tool owners and publish resolutions to the user community
Requirements & Qualifications
BSEE/CS or IT/Marketing/Commerce or equivalent, plus 4+ years related experience in CRM applications or packages. Degree in computer science and related field preferred
good business sense and excellent communication skills
Excellent in Chinese and fluent in English
Provides requirements on system design, content, process and standards necessary to continuously improve the implementation of Database Marketing
Provides a high level of expertise in the selection and operation of the combination of tools required to solve business problems
Provides the level of management expertise necessary to combine both internal and vendor resources to deliver a successful project
Ability to build relationships with peers among Cisco Sales/Marketing staff, distributors and resellers and customers
Experience in Database integration, Data-Warehousing and report writing
Must have experience on working on many projects at one time
Must be pro-active, enthusiastic, and dynamic and have attention to detail
