A unique opportunity exists to become part of our analytical team dedicated to the assessment and valuation of risk. Work will include modelling the financial impact of natural and man-made catastrophes, analysis of reinsurance programmes as well as the quantification and assessment of the cost of reinsurance capital.

A large part of your responsibilities will involve interacting with actuaries, brokers and clients throughout the Asia Pacific region. Excellent career progression opportunities will exist, including the potential to work in other markets throughout the region.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals holding a degree in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics or statistics. Candidates should have the following qualities:

Strong analytical and problem solving ability

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Putonghua

Interest in natural hazard/catastrophe modelling and reinsurance business environments

Experience in data manipulation using statistical packages such as MS Access, SAS, R, etc.

Experience with Geographic Information Systems, e.g. ESRI or Mapinfo.

Experience with programming in VBA, SQL

Articulate, flexible in working to deadlines, adept at working with process and the ability to communicate findings

Experience with presentations and research is a plus
