Quantum Wafer Inc. is a semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices company. It is located in the heart of Zhujiang Delta Industry Area of China.
Quantum Wafer makes mainly semiconductor wafers. The wafers are used by our customers to fabricate into LED devices (LED chips). After packaging, LEDs are used in many daily life applications such as LED TV, mobile phones, Solid-State Lighting, large-screen display, traffic light, etc.
Currently the core technology of making LED wafers (epitaxial wafers) lies in the design of the layer structures and the processes to realize the design. This requires deep knowledges in physics (especially quantum mechanics), materials science and engineering, chemistry, electronics, mechanics, etc., therefore, it posts strong technological challenges to the technical staff. As of 2010, high-end LED wafers are not yet widely available on both Chinese and global markets. This constrains Chinese LED chip companies to make only low- to mid-level LED chips. Quantum Wafer Inc. is conceived and then incorporated to overcome this problem and aims to provide high-level LED wafers to Chinese and Asia companies. We have a strong technical team with educational backgrounds and working experiences from universities and companies in different places such as mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, the US, Singapore, Australia. Many have master degrees or Ph. D. degrees.

量晶光电主要生产LED外延片。客户用我们的外延片来生产LED芯片。芯片封装后就是市场上到处可见的LED，用于LED电视，电脑显示屏，手机，照明（半导体照明），大屏幕显示器，交通灯，等。
目前，LED外延片关键技术为外延层设计和实现设计的生长工艺。由此要求深奥的专业知识，包括物理（特别是量子物理），材料科学和工程，化学，电子工程，机械等方面。所以技术难度和门槛极高。到2010年，高档的外延片在国内，国际市场都难买到，严重影响国产LED芯片的水平和质量。量晶光电就是为了克服此技术难关和市场空档而成立，为国内公司提供高端外延片，加快LED产业最高端技术的国产化进程。量晶技术团队的队员有丰富的工作经历和教育背景，在不同的大学和公司工作过，包括大陆，中国香港，中国台湾，欧洲，美国，新加坡，澳大利亚等，大部分有硕士博士学位，也有在国外大学当教授的经历。
