VMware invests for the future in VMware’s Sales Organization through the VMware Sales Academy. The VMware Sales Academy (VSA) is an extensive training program with two tracks: Inside Sales and Technical Services. The academy involves sales, technical and product training for all participants. Following training, successful participants will be moved into an Associate Sales role or a Technical Services Role (Associate Systems Engineer or Associate Consultant): the next step in their VMware Journey. The Associate project manager is a motivated, result driven individual that manages all consulting activities for the Professional Services Organization in mainland China. You will work with engagement managers and perform project management duties to support the completion of projects in professional services organization. You will participate during all phases of the project management process. Under the guidance of the engagement managers, you’ll schedule and conduct project meetings, communicate assignments and expectations to internal or external project members, track completion of project deliverables, collect customer’s acceptance on milestones or timesheet. You will ensure quality and integrity of all project-related products. You will communicate project information to stakeholders, design templates, create presentations, review and edit project deliverables, maintain the project information repository, complete the project according to VMware project excellence methodology. You’ll also help resolve project conflicts, identify resource requirements and align the project team on project scope. You’ll manage, track and report on the financial (Revenue, Costs, Margin) aspects of projects.
- Bachelor’s degree required - Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, graduate degree preferred
- Computer literate with experience in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) a must
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Visio a plus
- Ability to maintain professional composure in a fast-paced environment
- Have a positive “can-do” attitude and be ready to take on all tasks
- Able to independently prioritize workload and adjust for change
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and a customer-facing environment
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills and have the innate ability to multitask
- Self-motivator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent English
- PMP certificate is a plus
