Business & Technical Description
- GSM is the one of the most profitable business in investment banks. Securitized market is the fixed income market based on the securitization of asset-backed mortgages, therefore has a great rely on technology for risk calculation.
- GSM applications are to serve GSM business for trading, reporting, risk management and sales management. They’re a serial of applications which includes trade capture, reference data management, risk calculation and reporting. Technically they are mainly wintel platform based. It is a traditional C/S model with database as data storage. Some reporting modules are using reporting framework such as SSIS/SSRS. Reference data applications are utilizing latest technology such as big data and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
BAU Production Support
- Application Monitoring: Ensures application are running fine with an end-to-end monitoring, utilizing automated monitoring solution.
- Data Quality: Proactive monitor data quality to ensure in-time, accurate data.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve issue either spotted by monitoring or reported by user before causing business impact.
- User Request: Fulfil business users’ request when needed.
- Change Management: Involve in the whole release lifecycle including pre-release review, release implementation, post checkout, post-release review and track. Weekend work will be required and comps leave will be given.
- Incident and Problem Management: Involve in the whole lifecycle of outage management, including troubleshooting, communication, escalation and post-incident review.
- COB: Regularly involve in COB for both application level and module level.
- Ticket and Knowledge Base: Accurately tracking all work in tickets as well as maintaining knowledge base is required.
Stability and Efficiency Improvement
- Proactive review all daily work to raise improvement opportunities.
- Independently, or drive a group of people, to work on improvement projects.
- Being able to coordinate different people from different team, ask help from stakeholders if needed.
- Being able to resolve complicated technical problem, by both technical mean such as coding or scripting, as well as non-technical mean.
Working Model
- Follow-the-sun model. APAC team will cover 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. Individual will still work for 8 hours a day, either early or late shift.
- Weekend work will be needed and comps leave will be given. Work on public holidays will be needed and will be paid according to the law.
- Work with your partner L2 team in NAM. Work with L1 team in EMEA and NAM.
- Collaborate with development and QA team globally, including Shanghai.
- Travel is not required.

- Expertise wintel platform. A good understanding of windows at a non-SA level.
- Expertise SQL skill. Being able to read and write PL/SQL would be a plus.
- Expertise automated monitoring.
- Familiar with automation tool such as python, powershell. A good experience on scripting or coding would be a plus.
