Lead Software Engineer, Database programming:

You will work with an international development team to design, develop, and maintain a Database Abstraction Layer for VFinity’s Digital Asset Management product with
Cross platform capability (MySQL, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server…)
Storage of reconfigurable objects and metadata definitions
Support for complex search across metadata

1. Skills and Programming Knowledge

Internet application architecture
Our product is a built on a Service Oriented Architecture using .NET and Java technology. All lead developers and architects are expected to have deep knowledge of SOA, N-Tier Enterprise web applications, and Digital Multimedia Architectures.

Database programming
Experience with highly-optimized relational database design on SQL Server/MySQL, ODBC API, , SQL and stored procedures, serialization of persistence-tier objects using XML

Storage architecture
Experience with designing large-capacity media storage infrastructure in a networked environment or working with SAN providers to ensure scalability of asset management solution

Search/indexing
Designing database schema that optimizes keyword/hierarchical searches for video metadata, pagination of search results, storage of results from federated/remote servers


2. Experience
3 or more years of proven development experience in the areas listed above
2 or more years of work as a Senior Developer, Team Lead, or Enterprise Architect.
Development of multi-tier web applications in .NET/C++/C#.
Automated Unit testing (NUnit, or equivalent frameworks)
Audio/Video engineering experience a plus;
Expert knowledge of multimedia solutions and/or media studio production and post-production is a big plus.
Experience working within Agile Development processes a plus.


3. Education
Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Multimedia, and related fields preferred.

You will work with an international development team to:

Design, develop, and maintain a multimedia processing engine for our leading edge Digital Asset Management product.

1. Skills and Programming Knowledge

Distributed computing/processing
Experience with load-balancing, coordination of render/transcoding jobs on servers, adapting to priority-based queuing of jobs

Audio/video codecs
Compression (MPEG2, MPEG4/H.264, WM9/VC1), transport formats (DV/AVI, QuickTime, MPEG), streaming formats (Real, QuickTime, WM), streaming protocols (RTSP, HTTP, MMS), video formats (SD, HD/HDV, DV/DVCPro, NTSC, PAL)

Video stream processing
Scene detection, closed-captioning text extraction, audio transcription (speech-to-text)

Video application programming
Split/join and mux/demux of elementary streams, time code extraction/insertion, DirectX/QuickTime APIs, analog/SDI capture card integration, 1394/firewire DV capture/ control, RS-422 VTR deck control, key frame generation NLE, Audio, & Video Effects Software integration Experience using and/or interfacing with NLEs such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Avid, After Effects, Pro Tools


2. Experience
3 or more years of proven development experience in the areas listed above
2 or more years of work as a Senior Developer, Team Lead, or Architect.

You will work with our international development team to design, develop, and maintain the Web presentation layer for VFinity’s Digital Asset Management product. The ideal candidate is an experienced and C# developer with a talent for building clean, simple web UIs.

1. Skills and Programming Knowledge

Internet application architecture
Our product is a built on a Service Oriented Architecture using .NET and Java technology. All lead developers and architects are expected to have deep knowledge of SOA, N-Tier Enterprise web applications, and Digital Multimedia Architectures.

Web development
Server-side , client-side AJAX/DHTML/VBScript, XML/XSL/XHTML/CSS, variable-bandwidth streaming video. Embedded browser programming (IE/Firefox) with calls between native objects and javascript/VBScript.

GUI design
Sophisticated yet attractive UI designs for digital asset management workflows, experience with usability issues, skins, knowledge of internationalization issues, UI for web-based application version


2. Experience
3 or more years of proven development experience in the areas listed above
2 or more years of work as a Senior Developer or Team Lead.
