Summer Analyst – Private Equity

Morgan Stanley Private Equity is responsible for making long-term direct inves
tments in operating companies. The funds we invest are entrusted to us by pens
ion funds, institutional investors and governments, as well as Morgan Stanley’
s own capital and that of its employees. Morgan Stanley Private Equity seeks t
o add value by leveraging its global network of relationships and the expertis
e of Morgan Stanley’s other departments, including Equity Research and Invest
ment Banking.
We invest in a wide range of companies, from start-ups to management buyouts, 
and consider both minority and control positions. The management teams we work
 with pursue a variety of value-creation opportunities including growth, conso
lidation, deregulation, and outsourcing. 
 
PRIVATE EQUITY GROUP IN ASIA
Our investment professionals have a remarkable record of accomplishment of com
pleting successful investments. Our Asia private equity team, which is located
 in Hong Kong and Seoul, actively seeks out the most attractive investment opp
ortunities throughout the region, including Greater China, North Asia and Sout
heast Asia.
SUMMER PRIVATE EQUITY ANALYST PROGRAM
Our Summer Analyst Program runs for 10 weeks in our Hong Kong office. The Prog
ram is designed to provide a realistic view of a career in Private Equity by h
aving Summer Analysts assume the functions of full-time Analysts. Summer Analy
sts work closely with other Private Equity professionals to evaluate and execu
te investment opportunities and to monitor portfolio companies. This includes 
performing valuation analyses, building financial models and conducting indust
ry, business and financial due diligence in various countries and across diffe
ring sectors.

Requirements
We are looking for high-calibre undergraduate degree students in their third y
ear who possess both oral and written fluency in English and Mandarin, a keen

 you will work on a variety of transactions. Along the way, you will obtain a 
strong foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis and deal execution
. You will be expected to start learning how to market the firm’s products an
d services effectively.
 
Requirements
