Ø      Major Accountabilities

• Plan, review, adapt and execute the annual and more annual sales plan in line with M&S policy and strategy within the country in order to match the plan with the production plan and stock.

• Introduces the company and products to (potential) customers) in line with M&S policy and within the country in order to inform and acquire national customers.
• Formulates and negotiates with customers about annual and/or more annual contracts, within a clear framework of price and sales terms in order to realize the sales targets.
• Although his work may involve being in connection with or belong to one or several crop team his direct involvement in international projects with customers is punctual and not an important part of his activity.

• Provide market, price, and product information in line with crop and area policy and strategy within the country in order to contribute to the formulating of the marketing and sales plan in the crop team.
• Report periodically conform procedures and guidelines in line with M&S policy within crop and  country in order to keep the management informed about proceedings in sales and the consequences for the other departments (operations).

Ø      Major Accountabilities

• Assist and support the Breeder in optimizing the efficiency and output of the breeding program by designing and implementing new technologies and breeding methods in order to ensure a constant flow of commercially successful varieties.

o       Design, evaluate and formulate with the Breeder the short term breeding plan, the work process and performance by means of drawing up trial data in filing system, preparing summary reports, give feedback, make proposals and draw conclusions about the breeding program in order to facilitate, and enable divisional and corporate  decision making.

• Design and plan and after approval of the Breeder, implement, execute, evaluate, analyze, interpret and document autonomously breeding trials and their results in line with the breeding plan, guidelines and procedures,  in order to optimize the efficiency and output of the breeding program.
• Manage and execute the increase and maintenance of basic stock seed in coordination with the Breeder, Stock Seed and/or Production departments in order to ensure the availability of the quantity and quality of basic stock seeds.

Ø      Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Master degree in plant breeding, genetics or closely related field;
• Working knowledge of plant breeding ,horticultural practices and procedures, and genetics;

• Long term and frequently travels;
• Very variable working hours with peak periods during the selection season and growing season giving high work load and pressure;

Ø      Major Accountabilities

• Trial organization and coordination:
• Design, plan and coordinate the screening/trial schedule for a specific area and/or crops of expertise in close cooperation with the Breeder/Product specialist.
• Trial execution:
• Coordinate, monitor, set up and execute the screenings/trials for a specific area and/or crops of expertise in close cooperation with Breeder/Product Specialist.
• Collect, analyze, interpret and document autonomously yield data’s from screenings/trials and inform the Breeder/Product Specialist
• To show and inform Breeders/Product Specialist about the results of screenings, trials and new competitor varieties.
• Organize and coordinate meetings with all the people involved in order to facilitate and enable the decision making about trial en screening varieties.
• Coordinate and communicate the screening/trial schedule to the Farm Manager and provide him with technical advice in order to meet agreed standards, time planning and budgets.

• Bachelor in agriculture horticultural major
• Team worker；Ability to organize and program.
• PC literate. Some knowledge of Databases and statistics.
• Good level of English；Analytical and a good observer

Ø      Major Accountabilities

• Independently arrange production plots, filtrate growers, and increasing the acreage and quantity with consistent of quality yearly in a timely fashion.
• Interact on a regular basis with farmers to educate and train them for production standards that are essential for maintenance global standards of the crops.
• Execute on pest protection, soil treatment, and disease diagnosis and plant protection in growing stages to the farmers for increasing quality of crops and advice on new inputs.
• Understand the production plan and dispatch the stock seed to individual growers according to the planned acreage and contract quantity.
• Take charge of frequent field inspection and guide to growers for quality control and productivity development.
• Compile data on yield and quality of hybrid and analyses it for future planning
• Prepare timely production reports
• Train field assistants and coordinators on production activities
• Record and evaluate the farmer’s  cost and income and recommends payments
• Report crop status of the fields on a daily basis to the Crop Administrator.
• Explain and administrate the production contracts to growers.

 

 

Ø      Skills, Experience & Qualifications

o       Experience in vegetable production is needed for independent work.

o       Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal), works well with others (team player)

o       Sound technology and field skills.

o       Computer competent; Microsoft Word, Excel, database management;

Ø      Job purpose

Within specified area and crop(s), manage, monitor and provide advice relating to the specific agricultural aspects of the seed production in order to meet the production plan providing a consistent supply of high quality commercial and/or stock seed to ensure the long term profitability success of the organization.

 

Ø      Major Accountabilities

 

Execution of the Production Order

 

To ensure consistent methodology and company policy and procedure in seed production:

• Contract authorized production orders with the best growers, and advises growers on proper management practices in order to meet the sales demand.
• Aide in the planting, spraying and harvesting of contracted and company seed production in order to apply and maintain best practice procedures.
• Supervise rogueing crews and maintain log of off types removed for proper history and QA data. 
• Measure fields and prepare maps of cultivations hired, 30 days after sowing and/or planting in order to ensure accurate data and planning.
• Apply and monitor company standards: i.e., isolation, pest control seed purity, germination, disease, pollination and weed control in order to assure seed quality standards. 
• Direct timely control of specific agricultural tasks, i.e., load/unload stock roots and bulbs, identify, mark and/or destroy pollinator rows, sort and box in case of onion the bulbs in order to ensure proper quality, identity and proper delivery.  
• Evaluate nicking trials, production research trials and all hybrid productions in order to ensure sterility for production technique and yield improvements.

• Dissect seed and process mill samples to ensure further quality control determination.

 

Ø      Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters
• Ability to obtain and keep updated Pesticide Consultants License (USA)
• Proficiency with MS Office products
• Must be capable and competent of operating various farm machinery 

 

 

Ø      Working conditions

• Mainly in the fields outdoor or in greenhouses, minor admin, work.
• Requires domestic travel.
• Field environment including heat, dust and working within the vicinity of bee hives.
