Technical Intern (Undergraduate Level)

Program Introduction:

Interns in the SCO Organization will spend 10-15 weeks working on projects which add significant value to Cisco Systems, Inc.

·        
The SCO internship program is designed for the participant to gain:

o   
Experience: SCO interns will be placed into a role based on their area of interest and the business need and will participate in a group case competition.

o   
Exposure:  Interns will work and interact with senior leadership, managers, cross-functional teams, and other SCO interns.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Technical Engineer vary by the function and project that you are working on; below are some of the responsibilities that you could be accountable for:

Development in C/C on Linux/Unix platforms

·        
Participate in design discussions and research solutions for anti-counterfeiting and secure messaging

·        
Perform data analysis to detect subtle defect trends and drive continuous improvement activities.

·        
Work with cross-functional teams to provide quality information and make recommendations.

·        
Manage quality issues to resolution through an isolation, root cause, and closed-loop corrective action process.

·        
Provide support for Quality Engineering activities and unscheduled requests.

·        
Participate in Cisco Product Defect Reduction (pDRT) and Quality Improvement (QIT) teams

·        
FPGA design/programming and verification

·        
Custom design test hardware for the Manufacturing Test Platform initiative

Requirements:

Cisco is extremely dynamic and fast paced. We are looking for team members that have the following skill sets.

·        
Will support software and hardware engineers and work on individual projects.  Basic knowledge of basic electronic test and measurement equipment is desirable, such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc., so candidates with some college EE/Physics lab experience are preferable.

·        
Strong written and verbal skills are required, language skills beyond English are a plus.

·        
Full knowledge of basic PC software (Microsoft Office & Outlook) is required.

·

Desired Major’s are: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
