Position: Sourcing & Procurement Intern

Branch - Division: Exploration & Production - TOTAL China IPO (International Procurement Office)

Location: Shanghai

Internship period: February - July 2013, with at least 4 days' attendance per week

Responsibilities:

v  -     Assist Sourcing and procurement engineers in their tasks: prepare market cards for targeted category, identify Chinese vendors using comprehensive sources, monitor initial phase of assessment process (RFI, Financial analysis, scorecard creation) and propose a short list of vendors for Total Quality Management Systems audits (reference is Total international Qualification process - CR EP CA 530).

-       Sole contact point between Chinese vendor and IPO during this initial evaluation phase.

-       Ensure qualified vendors are properly referenced in Total relevant databases (ISDB, Projects Exhibit J, IPO database)

-       Participate to suppliers visits and write reports.

-       Obtain procurement forecasts for upcoming tenders from Projects (EP/DEV/PJC) and affiliates (MPP) and make sure Chinese qualified suppliers are invited to the CFT's.

-       Upon affiliate/project request provide all necessary support: freight forwarding proposal, communication, translations, others.

-       Expedite each Purchase Order (PO) to track key milestones (post-production process), raise alerts and report supplier performance.

-       Report savings generated by all PO's placed to Chinese vendors and write a REX for each PO placed in China.

-       Develop good supplier relationships in liaison with internal stakeholders (category managers, end-users, other IPO team members, etc)

-       Participate to suppliers performance reviews with Quality team (SQM meetings, post-supply evaluation)

v  Assist IPO team in their qualification procedures (QMS, social audits, follow-up, etc.)

v  Assist IPO team for communication and promotion of IPO (communication tools like intranet, factsheets, booklets, etc.)

Requirements:

Soft skills: motivation, curiosity, hands-on attitude, good interaction with others, listening, ability to work in teams.

Engineering or commercial degree is preferred

Fluent English is a must

Mandarin native speaker
