Caravel China Limited Beijing Representative Office is looking to hire a recent graduate as a Research Trainee. 

 

The Research Trainee will spend 12 months in the research team.  The Trainee’s performance will be evaluated throughout the 12 month period and – should the performance reach the required standard - the Trainee will be given an offer to join the Company on a permanent basis.

The Role

 

The successful trainee will join the Research team at Caravel, providing research and analysis on dry bulk freight and commodities markets for the Caravel Resources and Caravel Maritime teams.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

·         Assisting the research team with daily analysis of market driving forces through reporting and timely updates on regulatory changes in key regional countries

·         Compiling, updating, and reviewing statistical data in commodities balance sheets, macroeconomic monitoring, and cargo shipment follow-ups to offer a comprehensive understanding of supply and demand of iron ore and freight

·         Bringing challenging analysis and original ideas to the team

Education / technical skills required

·         Major in engineering, mathematics, economics or a related field

·         High level of numeracy and an aptitude for statistics

·         Good written and spoken English

·         Excellent Excel skills
