SSD Design Engineering Job
As a Design Engineer within the Personal Systems Product Development group at Micron Technology Inc., you are responsible for taking solid state drives from design and relative design verification. It includes product definition, design review, validation, characterization and production enabling. You will also be responsible for issues drill down during product development and push the problem solving with cross function team which requires strong communication, team work and project management skills.
Responsibilities will include the following activities:
Perform Product Test/Characterization to evaluate and support new product development
Analyze failures to determine and drill down issues and push issues to closure by interfacing/collaborating with other development teams.
Product development ownership who needs manage the project schedule and milestones.
Data analysis to enabling production with yields and customer quality requirement
Develop and perform design test plans/scripts to evaluate new product features. Coordinate test and validation of all specifications in the Product Technical Specification Matrix.
Identify and/or develop test tools to enable failure analysis and improve testability
Maintain a working knowledge of all SSD components and interconnection requirements to enable margin analysis in SI, Voltage, Clock Speeds, and temperature. Utilize this knowledge to construct and execute test plans to validate known or new system parameters.
Contributing member of new product architecture teams to provide analysis and response to the Market requirements of a specific product.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, technical writing, and communication skills
Strong programming skills with languages such as C, C++, Python, Perl, and Java
Knowledge of NAND Flash and operation and basic knowledge on other memories.
Experience on the project management is a plus
Knowledge of communication protocols a plus (SATA, SAS, PCIe, UART, USB)
Experience using protocol and logic analyzers; experience with ARM debuggers is a plus
The ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be willing to work nights and weekends if necessary
Self-motivation and enthusiasm
Provide technical support (e.g. failure analysis, questions, etc.) to any internal or external customer as part of product development
Education:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Mater degree is preferred.
