This is the internship position, graduates in 2019 /2020 will be preferred.
As a Design Engineer for Micron's Managed Memory Design Group, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating any issue related to system, media, protocol or FW during product development phase. Analysis will cover the areas of performance, power, behavior, controller, media, and firmware for both Micron and competitor devices. In this position you will work with and support the efforts of groups such as Systems Architecture, Product Design, Firmware Development, Product Validation, Systems compatibility and even NAND group for media errors. Projects are typically focused on products and markets in which Micron directly competes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analysis, verification and tuning of FTL algorithms.
Design experiments, collect & analyze data to understand FW/NAND behavior.
System level characterization and analysis of performance, power and behavior; Failure analysis if needed.
Work closely with Firmware Development team and Media Architecture team to understand firmware requirements on NAND and make sure NAND can meet all requirements. Actively involved in firmware development to solve issues and provide solutions.
Customer support during product qualification, and design in
Development of software and other tools needed for analysis or for validation purpose
Advance analysis of upcoming features for early enablement and design/architecture impact assessment
System level competitive analysis and reverse engineering
Develop and maintain a broad knowledge base of competitor data
Publish results of analysis projects and alert interested parties of critical information
REQUIREMENTS:
Semiconductor industry working experience is preferred.
Good UFS/eMMC, SD/MMC, USB, SSD related knowledge preferred.
Experience with NAND quality and reliability is a plus
Good knowhow of Linux kernel and embedded systems is a plus
Good data analysis skills including basic statistics knowledge
Experience using protocol analyzers, high speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
Ability to program in C, Python.
Highly organized and self-motivated, good team work and communication skills
The ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers
The ability to apply creative and inventive ideas to resolve difficult issues
Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
