Job Description

COMPANY PROFILE:

n and rheological applications.
Advanced measurement technologies are combined with robust mechanical designs,
and comprehensive data handling and automation software, to provide industria
lly relevant systems to sectors as diverse as pharmaceuticals and cement.

POSITION:      Product Technical Specialist China – Rheometry

LOCATION:     Shanghai

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Provide support to the sales organization by demonstrations and  customer vi
sits (within China and occasionally abroad) and to diligently document and cir
culate reports on such visits
  Generate product support material  in conjunction with UK Product Technical
Specialist and Product Manager (application notes, technical notes, articles,
FAQ's and material for use on our China Web Site) to improve the communication
to the market and the wider China organization in support of rheometry busine
ss objectives.
To prepare and give lectures and present seminars at an advanced level
to the direct sales team and customers.
  To develop and where required provide specialist training, advice and guidan
ce to customers and sales organization on material characterization relating t
o the best use of our rheometry products.
Analysis of customer samples on the rheometric product range with pres
entation of results to relevant sales organization or customer with appropriat
e written report.
Maintain a tidy and professional working environment with emphasis on
ensuring the rheometrics product range laboratory is always ready to support p
roduct demonstrations and receive visitors.
Receive incoming calls and answer technical queries and to liaise with
sales persons and customers in connection with samples submitted for analysis
 
Maintain a strong line of communications between the Applications depa
rtment and Rheometrics group and act as a conduit for feedback and information
pertaining to applications function between these two departments.
Maintain and, in conjunction with colleagues, review knowledge managem
ent database and procedures.

REQUIREMENT:

Excellent technical communication skills
A good listener – to understand customers needs.  
Dynamic - able to thrive in a fast moving environment.
Able to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Flexibility/adaptability - ability to handle change and adapt to new s
ituations.
Minimum doctoral level or higher in a physical science subject, partic
ularly chemistry, physics, physical chemistry, chemical engineering. An unders
tanding of polymer science, food science and/or colloid chemistry would be adv
antageous
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, spoken and written.
At least 2 years previous laboratory experience gained using rheologic
al testing techniques. Computer literate with a good knowledge of MS Office &r
eg; suite is considered obligatory. Fully aware and trained in Application lab
oratory procedures and practices.
